Grandad.
Grief is an unusual feeling
The ups, downs and frustrations,
Where we just want to see you in person
And celebrate the special occasions.
A hole has be soldered into our hearts
Which will take a while to start healing,
Your legacy will live throughout generations
Which gives us that warm, tender feeling.
We no longer get to hug you
Hear your stories or see you for a while,
The memories we will cherish and share
To spread laughter and make others smile.
We all have so many memories of you
The good, the bad and the ugly,
The chippy nights are a good one of mine
Your hugs, so tight and snuggly.
There’s so many things I don’t know about you
Your favourite colour, drink or car,
We all know you enjoyed your pies
But you didn’t like Welsh cakes? How bizarre!
Your soul has gone to the angels
Your memories will continue with us,
Ensure that you behave up there
No technology, so that’s a plus!
Grandad, we know you will be with us
Walking closely, every step each day,
Every time we need to look for guidance
Your light will shine and show us the way.
Grandad, you will always have a special place in my heart. I miss you. I love you.
